How it works-

Gas prices and consumption fluctuate by season.  Because of this gas bills also change throughout the year.  This usually means higher gas bills in the winter months, and lower gas bills in the summer months.  The graph below shows an example of this rise and fall, paying more in the winter and less in the summer.  The darker orange line represents payments on the SES budget program.  These payments would stay level all year long, to even out the highs and lows of gas bills.

 So instead of making high payments in the winter and then lower payments in the summer, you would be able to make the same payment all year long!  Budget amounts are established based on previous usage and future gas pricing, and are recalculated every May to incorporate consumption changes.
