Do you love throwing parties and entertaining? Are you looking to do so in a green way? Well, you’re in luck because we have tips for you! We’ll be exploring ways you can make your parties and events a little more green.

Go Digital

Do you know that people throw away 1 billion trees worth of paper every year? The best way you can put an easy green spin on your party is by going digital on your invites! Plus, you’ll save on mailing costs.

To create your invitation, there are several websites that offer free templates. Some of these websites include Canva, Greetings Island, Adobe, and Punchbowl. You can easily edit and use these templates for your invitation.

If you need an invitation fast, sites like Paperless Post, evite, and RSVPify, allow you to make and send out an E-vite in seconds. These sites also give your guests the option to RSVP on the spot when they receive your invite!

Keep your Décor Simple

When it comes to being eco-friendly, less is more. Ditch plastic party materials like balloons and streamers to reduce your plastic use.

In the same way, another green practice is picking a sustainable theme for your party. Using nature-centered décor like pinecones and dried flowers to go along with the theme. Some other options for eco-friendly decorations include:

Don’t Invite Plastic

Throwing a party is a great way to get people together and have a great time! But one guest you shouldn’t invite is plastic. Switching out single-use disposables like plates and forks with reusable ones is a great way to reduce waste at parties.

Another way you can reduce your plastic use is to rent instead of buying the items you need for your event. These items can include anything from coolers to tents and canopies – and you can even find green options as well! This can save you time and money in the long run, and some companies even offer equipment set up and takedown.

Green up your Food Plans

When it comes to food, there’s a lot you can do to ensure you’re throwing an eco-friendly gathering! You can implement a BYOSP system (Bring Your Own Serving Pieces) to encourage others to participate and eco-friendly practices.

In the same way, instead of buying packaged snacks and drinks, consider making your own snacks for your event. You can also turn your party into a potluck and encourage your guests to bring their own dishes. If you’re looking to cater food, consider ordering from local restaurants so that you burn less fossil fuels with delivery.

When it comes to planning parties, there’s a lot you can do to green up your party. From making cautious décor decisions to reducing your plastic use, you can throw a party the Earth would love to attend!
