With winter upon us and the fact that your energy bills are inevitably going to go up, do you know if you qualify for any energy assistance? There are programs in place to help you out over the cold winter months that lie ahead.
The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program helps families by assisting with energy costs. They provide federally funded assistance to help manage costs associated with a variety of things, most namely energy bills. More information on the program can be found here – http://www.acf.hhs.gov/ocs/programs/liheap/about
The Weatherization Assistance Program helps lower-income families with permanently reducing their energy bills by making their homes more energy efficient. Regardless of whether a person owns or rents, lives in a mobile home, housing complex, single or multi-family home the assistance is available through funding by the U.S. Department of Energy.
Emergency assistance may also be available depending on your state to help lower-income families avoid having their utilities disconnected. Contact the National Energy Assistance Referral project for more information at 866.674.6327 or TTY at 866.367.6228.
If you do not qualify, check into how Santanna Energy Services may be able to help by locking in a low rate for a fixed 6 or 12-month term.
