Expect a drive of about 4.5 to 5.5 hours (roughly 305 miles) via I-76 W, also known as the Pennsylvania Turnpike. It’s a scenic route with plenty of rest stops along the way, perfect for breaking up the trip. 

  1. Lancaster, PA

The drive from Lancaster takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours (around 240 miles). You’ll take PA-283 W and I-76 W, making it a smooth and relatively short trip for a weekend getaway or longer stay.  

  1. Cleveland, OH

From Cleveland, it’s about 2.5 to 3 hours (around 135 miles) via I-80 E and I-76 E. This short trip makes Pittsburgh a great destination for Ohioans looking for a quick city escape. 

  1. Youngstown, OH

A quick 1 to 1.5-hour drive (approximately 65 miles) via I-76 E. Youngstown locals can enjoy easy access to Pittsburgh for day trips or short weekend visits.

The trip from New York City to Pittsburgh takes about 6 to 7 hours (around 370 miles) via I-78 W and I-76 W. However, keep in mind that traffic can vary significantly, so plan accordingly if you’re traveling during peak hours.
